London: Day 1

11 days and 5 countries later, Dustin and I are finally home! After a brief layover in the beautiful Iceland (we want to go back!) we made it to our first destination, London!

We loved the accents, easy transportation system, our friendly B+B hosts, riding on the double decker buses and all of London's beauty and history.

Our biggest "mishap" was arriving to Europe to discover that our camera was not working! Unfortunately, we had to rely on our phones for all photography the rest of the trip.

Here are a few photos from our first day. Dustin and I both agreed that a "hop-on, hop-off" bus tour would be the best way to see the city quickly, given our short time frame. This allowed us to get off and spend time at each attraction and find our own destinations as well! Towards the end of the night we enjoyed walking along the river vs. taking the bus.

The ticket office for the Titanic!

We had way too much fun riding the double decker buses around!

Of course, a selfie with the Buckingham Palace gaurd.

Next, a selfie with Big Ben.

We rode the London Eye!

We walked across the Tower Bridge, where the Olympic rings were displayed in 2012.

I was in love with all the cafes and the white subway tiling!

The London Tower now has poppies where the moat used to reside. You can read about this here.

We eventually made it to the fabulous Borough Market, a big thank you to Caroline for this suggestion! We sampled honey, meats and cheeses!

I loved this Starbucks near the market.

This photo doesn't do the view justice. Walking along the river at dusk was absolutely breathtaking!
