Yesterday, my dad and I were on the phone ordering Save the Dates when he told me he had news to share. My first reaction? "Oh great, this is never good." My dad was laid off of work after 19 years at Church and Dwight. 19 years, wow. He has been there ever since I was 5 years old. Still he shows no sign of worry, fear or hesitation. My dad is very composed and he assures me multiple times that he is OKAY. Dad I love you and will always be here for you. LinkedIn help and all!
Thoughts racing through my head -
1) How can I help?
2) Will mom be okay financially?
3) Will Dad and Karen be okay financially?
4) My dad is landlord to Dustin's brother and my grandmother. Will they be okay?
5) What will I do about insurance?
Hire my dad, please!
Let's be honest. It sure is becoming harder and harder to put my trust in God. Dustin keeps reminding me that is why we have faith. Faith does not come easy and life will test us. Divorce, sickness, house robbery, car accidents, loss of pets, new marriages, deaths, losing jobs, cancer and family divides. God are you there? Do you have a plan? Is there a light at the end of this tunnel?
A great quote from my mom to end this blog post. "There cannot be a testimony without a test".
Your dad is SUCH a great guy!! And you are amazing, I'm always in awe of how gracefully you handle every. single. situation!
